Volunteer at Inferno

Every year more than 150 volunteers are working with us to make this festival a reality. Do you want to join the team?

Last updated: March 6, 2026

There are many different types of volunteer jobs at the festival. We asks the volunteer to be as open for multiple roles as possible. This increases the chance of getting accepted for a volunteer position. Below we have a list of short intros about the various volunteer teams we got.

If you see anything of interest click here to apply.

Volunteer Teams

Accreditation/Tickets

The first people to greet our guests! Here you exchange tickets for wristbands, conduct ticket sales and register our partners, press and volunteers. You are structured, serviceminded, and able to smile even during stressful times. It's a plus if you are skilled in languages and have previously worked for Inferno, as you'll be able to give valuable info. You should be comfortable around computers, but all necessary training will be provided on site. Working days: Wednesday – Sunday.

Backstage

Previous experience working with artists is mandatory! Do not apply if your sole purpose is to meet your favorite band – we require a highly professional attitude! As an artist host your job is to make sure the bands have what they need from the time they arrive to the time they leave the venue. We expect you to be mature and discreet, polite, responsible, and serviceminded. NB: Volunteers work either double shift in one day (full shift) or single shifts on two different days (flex shift). Please write in your application what you prefer. Working days: Thursday – Sunday.

Bag Packing

The Bag Packing team works Monday before the festival, and this shift counts as one of your two mandatory shifts. The job is to pack and make ready our popular tote bags. No experience is needed, but if you are cheerful, a positive yes-person who also can count, we would love to work with you! PS: Only a few handful volunteers are needed, so please remember to also pick other alternative working days/teams. Working day: Monday.

Catering

You will help out in the kitchen, prepare buffet platters and make sure the catering area is tidy and clean (no actual cooking). The morning team will serve breakfast for our staff and volunteers. The evening team will prep the kitchen for next day and make snack platters and sandwiches for our technicians and night crew. You take pride in having good hygiene, and it's a bonus if you actually thrive in the kitchen. It goes without saying, but you do understand the importance of coffee! Working days: Wednesday – Sunday.

Checkpoint

Making sure that our venue access points are secure is one of the most important jobs at the festival. You will be checking wristbands at all the entrances and exits, and working for this team allows you to see many different places inside the venue. You should be attentive, responsible, not easily offended and obviously not colorblind. It is very important that you're able to take orders and follow protocol. A selected few Checkpoint-volunteers will be recruited as Pit Crew. Working days: Thursday – Sunday.

Rig & Load

We need a handful of volunteers to help prepare the venue with the appropriate set-ups for our vendors, art exhibitors and tattoo artists. This involves lifting and carrying fences, tables, and other furniture, so you should be able to do some physical work. We also need people to help with load-in and load-out daytime before the festival, after the final show and when the festival is over, so please specify which days you are available. Rig & Load has limited work hours. Please write in the comment section which days you are available. Working days pre-rig: Wednesday and Thursday (daytime). Post-rig: Sunday night (after the final show). Working days pre-load: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (daytime). Post-load: Sunday night (after the final show) and Tuesday after the fest (daytime).

Runner

This is a daytime job where you go for 'a run' when there is something to pick up or buy (equipment, food, booklets etc.). Some days will be calm, other days you may be walking nonstop. You should be in good health, know your way around Oslo, be independent and not easily bored. Having a driver's license (B) is a requirement, but you'll mostly be walking. Working days: Thursday – Sunday.

Stagehand

You will work closely with the Stage Manager and the technical crew, help with load in/load out and build stage setups. It's a plus if you are familiar with sound equipment, but as long as you are physically fit to lift and push heavy flight cases, this is a great opportunity to experience the technical side of a festival. You are in close proximity to the artists so we expect you to behave professionally. Special requirements for work attire. Working days: Thursday – Sunday.

Tattoo

Team Assistant

We need a few volunteers to assist in different areas, i.e. with Vendor Sales, Artist signing sessions, and Party assistance. We appreciate that you are flexible, independent, have a positive attitude and can follow protocol. Working days: Wednesday – Sunday.

Tickets

Video

You will join our professional AV team, filming concerts and audiences during the festival. This may be done from a stationary position or you will be walking around with a GoPro. Experience with operating video cameras is a requirement, and you will be using our equipment.
